Chat with a girlfriend...
Over the weekend I met up with a friend. She's just started seeing someone so the vast majority of our conversation revolved around this.
As girls do, we compared notes on how our sex lives were going (if you're male, we don't discuss half the things you think we do but that's another post!). Her comment "I'm glad I can talk to you about this stuff. I wouldn't feel comfortable discussing it with anyone else" got me thinking.
One thing we talked about was the fact that we both like porn. Aside from my OH, she is the only person (in the real world!) that knows this about me. Until this discussion I thought I was a bit abnornmal. I mean, girls aren't supposed to like porn! I've never discussed this with other girlfriends for this very reaso, so I wonder just how many of us women hide away our true sexual selves?
Men flaunt their sexual desires everywhere you look...in advertising campaigns, films and TV shows, and the top shelf of a newsagents. They are totally comfortable with it. So in today's society where men a nd women are supposedly equal, why are women so ashamed and embarrassed to admit what turns them on?
I for one would like to see this change. Talking with my girlfriend felt so liberating! If only I felt this comfortable with all my friends...who knows what other secrets might be revealed! :)

Hi again, waiting to see how the clothes shopping went ;-) but wanted to add to your "women and porn" peice... my wife is pretty straight laced; its always been lights out and strictly missionary, which I don't find particularly exciting but hey she's a good person and a great mother and we can't all be perfect! One holiday in France we had a night away together (kids left with in laws) and stayed in a city centre hotel, films on the TV, she suggested we watch a dirty movie (and of course in Europe porn is porn! LOL) and WOW! Who was this wild woman in my bed?! Fabulous!
That was 4 years ago and its never been mentioned since... perhaps its time I took her back to Paris!

Hmmmm tricky isn't it though, I mean do I just arrive home with it with the potential to have egg all over my face, or do I suggest such a purchase and risk rejection? I guess I've always hoped she would suggest it! LOL
But hey we English are too up tight to ask for what we want :-(

there is nothing more valuable, enpowering and liberating than a true girlfriend that you can be your self with. Take care of those kind of relationships... oh and yes, many sexual women like porn
